Oklahoma city house fire claims a life

Firefighters responding to a 911 call about 3:05 a.m. at 1915 N McKinley Ave. found heavy flames pouring out of the second floor of the duplex, Cothran said. Four of the building’s five occupants escaped safely but told authorities a woman was still upstairs.
Firefighters were able to reach the woman and pull her out of the house, but it was too late, Cothran said. She died at the scene.
Walmart bomb threat suspect has previous record

A man arrested Sunday in a phoned bomb threat to a Walmart in Oklahoma City has a pending felony case from a similar incident in November, court records show.
Curtis Cooper Jr., 46, was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on a complaint of telephoning a bomb threat to the Walmart at 1801 Belle Isle Blvd., police Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.
He remained in jail Monday afternoon in lieu of $5,000 bail.

House Bill 2750 directs the state Board of Education to incorporate information about the bombing into the Oklahoma history and social studies core curriculum.
